The darker the roux the better the gumbo
Nothing better than a good bowl of gumbo
I like all 3,but if I have to pick one it would be vinegar !🐷🐷🐷🐷
New Orleans boo family from the Bayou area and Carolina 😊.🙏🏽🙏🏽 Jollof rice, Jambalaya and Red rice are much the same, hence the West African culture. New Orleans and Gullah cultures are similar and beautiful. Notice New Orleans, Gullah and Liberian accents are so similar. They all say the word "OKAY" the same way🤔. Accents and manners of speaking have been retained 😊
She left this planet before covid. 🙏🏽
❤ This is so dope.
I was just looking for a recipe now I'm crying
Please bring this show back! I'm sitting here watching every one of them. Great host and content. Thank you!
Great programming! Grocery store tomatoes are a crime.
Mustard is the key
I have a lot of homemade recipes I share all the time. Never understood why people think the need to not disclose their recipe for anything.
Sorry to be the dissident of this beautiful scientific research, but I am seeing too many strangers in this cookout and I would prefer that we keep it in the family.
People don’t realize that the Gullah Gettchi brought a lot of their original custom from Africa. The food is awesome
Checking in from marion county sc. Gotta go with vinegar base
This has been one of my favorite series. If you ever decide to do a deeper dive, I'm ready. (I'm sure I'm not the only one!)
After meeting my biological father I found that I'm not Cherokee but in fact Gullah, so I'm learning as much as I can.
Her face and expression when saying "corn in a gumbo" matched the same way myself & my family respond to "weird" things in Cajun food! God bless, RIP. What a blessing she was. Reminds me of my grandmother to the tee!
Fascinating ✅️
friends dont let friends use mustard.... NC for life
She is gorgeous! I can't believe she's 95!
Just came across this video. Soooooo very intriguing and educational. I would love to visit one day. Caribbean nationals need to stop flocking to New York and visit these other places more.
LOVE THIS. THIS IS SACRED WORK. Working the land, knowing the plants, respecting the tradition and honoring the labor. LOVE. ALL. OF IT. Please keep sharing how we can support these farmers, seed savers, stone mills and their work too.
In the Bahamas grits and tuna is a popular breakfast.
salt and pepper. No sauce!
P.S. During the American "Jim Crow" Era. BBQ restaurants, for the most part, were exempt from segregation laws.
the kumayah sounded like soca/calypso music

She Is Us!
She looks like Obama.
Wow I wish I had the blessing of meeting her. ❤️❤️🙏🙏 RIP Beautiful
I love her no corn in gumbo ! That's right Queen we don't like corn
🎶 Family Reunion.🎶
These foods heavily influence all cooking in the south. Everybody ate rice with veggies like peas or okra tomato gumbo. My Father had never eaten rice before except in pudding. He was amazed at rice with gravy and rice with gumbo. He was from Detroit. He met Mom when stationed in the south in the Arm Air Corp in WW2.Mom accused him of marrying her to get to eat Gangy's food. Lol!
Beautiful!
Son! That looks lari-ipn!!!
Host stinks.
When He said corn put my mouth dropped to the floor. But you know what you take a recipe and your doctorate to away that you can enjoy. So I'll leave it alone but I still don't know if I would call that a gumbo though
I am of creole decent, and I see creole cooking isn't much different.
I love her energy her personality! She reminds me of a grandmother or great auntie! Her family is so bless to have her? I'm planning a trip to. N.O i have to try her gumbo & her fried chicken looks delicious! At her restaurant! God Bless her and her family! 💜🙌🏻. I love being part creole and island descent! I love me some gumbo.
